The Healthcare Freedom Bill provides for two fundamental rights:
- The right to spend your own money to seek out and receive health care services that are otherwise legal.
- The right to choose NOT to participate in any health care system, of any type.
As always, I’m astounded that such a law is necessary. The notion that government can hold a gun to your head and force you to participate in a health care program that you don’t want is a fundamental violation of freedom. It makes no sense that a state should have to pass a law to prevent government from doing something it doesn’t have the authority to do in the first place.
I wonder if we’ll see other states following suit.
